For the Love of Doxies!

The first time she batted those pleading brown eyes at you . . .

Or, the moment he burrowed that long, wet nose into your neck . . .

And the instant you saw that funny, sausage-like body . . .

You fell in love with a doxie!

Daschunds have a way of winding themselves around our hearts and refusing to let go. Our lives are made all the better for their love and devotion. But our doxie friends also have needs.

If they receive the right measure of nutrition, exercise, and good preventative care, daschunds can live long, happy, and healthy lives.

That's why "The Doxie Dames" have launched this website!

We do not claim to be experts (Dame Marjorie is an academic and Dame Lynda is a successful business woman), but between us we are owned by SIX doxies! We have gone through all the stages of life from puppyhood to puberty to living with geriatric daschunds. Along the way, we've completed tons of research, asked a lot of questions, and made some successful . . . and some not so successful . . . choices.

One day, we had a flash of inspiration: Why not share all that we've learned with other doxie lovers out there? Why not ask others to share what they've learned as well? Why not build a community of daschund-loving maniacs that spans the whole wide web world?

Come join us in this grand adventure . . .

In this site, you'll find all sorts of information about daschunds:

  • Doxie Back Problems: Find the latest news and information about preventing doxie back problems, surgical and non-surgical options to address back disease, and inspiring stories of doxies living full lives even with back troubles.

  • Doxie Nutrition: Considering moving your doxie to "people food"? Just want to find the healthiest (and tastiest) kibble around? Wondering if you should add supplements to your dog's diet? We dish the dirt on what we and others are feeding our pooches.

  • Doxie Training Tips: Daschunds are notorious for their stubborn streak, but they can be trained! In fact, training might just make the difference between life and death one day. Get some tips and tricks that will help you train your best friend.

  • Seasonal Health for Doxies: Whether it's poop and pee in the house in winter or hay fever in the spring, the seasons bring different challenges for our doxies (and us!). Here are some simple but effective techniques to cope.

And much more about doxies you've always wanted to know but didn't have anyone to ask. Be sure to also check out our doxie family photo album!

Happy tails to you!

Marjorie & Lynda
