Pet Oxygen Masks
Can Save Your Dog's Life
In Case of Fire

I pride myself on being a good Pet Mom. My dachshunds are well fed, well groomed, and have a clean bill of health from the vet. I wouldn't have it any other way--Max and Bernie are a part of my family. Yes, it might be cliche to say it, but cliches become overused only because they tell a simple truth: Max and Bernie are a part of my family, and there isn't much I wouldn't do to make sure they are safe and happy little creatures. But recently, I discovered caring for my doxies requires more than good food, great vet care and lots of play.

What would you do if a fire broke out in your home? How would you save your family? If you are like me, you probably have a fire extinguisher and an exit strategy. But what would you do with your pets? We have all heard the stories of dogs and cats hiding under beds, going deeper into the danger zone, because they are afraid. Should you risk your life to try and find your pet?

The conventional advice is that you must get out quickly. Delaying your exit simply impedes the work of firefighters and endangers your life (and theirs). Get out as quickly as you can and allow them to do their work is what I have always heard. What I did not realize was that once firefighters locate your pet, they do not necessarily have the equipment that could save her life.

One of the primary dangers for your pet in case of fire is smoke inhalation. But most fire stations lack one indispensable tool to deal with the problem: an oxygen mask that fits your pet. Human oxygen masks are too big and don't allow the flow of oxygen to be directed up your dog's (or pet's) snout. Much valuable, life-saving oxygen is lost in the process. I started doing some research and discovered that pet oxygen masks do exist, so the technology is available. In fact, veterinarians have been using these masks for years. But most fire stations do not have the masks, and certainly most pet parents are not even aware of the possible danger.

Once I had done my research, I decided as a good Pet Mom, I had to have a mask as part of my emergency kit. They are effective, long-lasting and cheap. Why wouldn't I have one? It gives me peace of mind to know in case of fire, my doxies now have an improved chance of surviving. I do not have to hope and pray that the fire truck responding to my emergency might just have a pet oxygen mask available. I am prepared.

But what about you? Are you prepared? I recently became a distributor of these wonderful pet oxygen masks because I want to get the word out. These masks might just save a well-loved pet's life one day.
